ICC Cricket World Cup Teams 2019

This is the first time in the history of the ICC World Cup that only the top 10 teams play, while teams below the top 10 of the ODI ranking are not included. At the last world cup, there were 14 teams, including the low-level teams, but this year only the best teams play, which makes this World Cup a little different and, on the other hand, more difficult with hard matches that already.

The teams included in this World Cup are:

  1. West Indies

  3. Afghanistan
  4. Australia
  5. Bangladesh
  6. South Africa
  7. Sri Lanka

Format and Rules ICC CWC 2019

This year, the group stage of the tournament is a round-robin, where the ten teams qualified for the World Cup will each play against one group. Unlike previous years, this time there is only one group of the top ten cricket teams.
The round-robin format was previously used at the 1992 Cricket World Cup, where the tournament had nine teams. The same format, but with a total of ten teams, is again applied at the 2019 Cricket World Cup.
In the initial phase, each team will play nine matches, for a total of 45 games played in the first round. The top four teams with the most points and a winning streak will advance to the 2 semifinal matches. The two winners of the semi-final will then qualify for the final game of the World Cup final. Once added, this year there will be a total of 48 games played throughout the ICC Cricket Tournament.
